Tides head coach away from club for family reasons

Halifax Tides head coach Stephen Hart missed the club's inaugural W Canadian Championship match for family medical reasons, a spokesperson for the club told media on Monday.

"The club wishes to advise that coach Stephen Hart is currently dealing with a significant family medical situation," Marilyn Burke, the club's marketing and communications manager, said via a written statement.

"The entire organization fully supports Stephen taking the time he needs to be with his family during this period. As part of the Tides family, his loved ones come first, and he has our full support.

"We will provide further updates as the situation progresses.

"On behalf of everyone at the club, we extend our thoughts and best wishes to Stephen and his family, and we wish for a full and speedy recovery."
