Wanderers book Toronto FC for friendly match in Halifax

Toronto FC is headed back to the Wanderers Grounds.

The Wanderers announced on Tuesday that they'd booked the MLS side, which last played in Halifax during the 2022 Canadian Championship, to a friendly match on Thursday, July 9.

The match, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. AT, will serve as a sharpener for both sides as Toronto FC looks to their return to MLS action, having not played since May 23, and Halifax bridges a 13-day gap between CPL tilts.

The last time Toronto FC visited Halifax, they emerged with a 2-1 win, eliminating the Wanderers from the Canadian Championship, not to mention seeing a return of local star Jacob Shaffelburg.

The Wanderers return to CPL action versus Pacific FC this Friday. They currently sit seventh on the table but are only three points away from a playoff spot.
