Tides add American forward Jordyn Rhodes
The Halifax Tides continue to add to their attack as the club announced on Friday that they've signed American forward Jordyn Rhodes through the 2026 season.
Rhodes, from South Lebanon, OH, turned professional following a strong collegiate career at the University of Kentucky. Over her five years, she rose to prominence as the team captain and left the program as its all-time leading scorer with 45 goals.
She most recently played in Iceland's Besta Deild, the country's highest tier, with Valur and registered 11 goals and two assists. Previously, with Tindastóll in 2024, she scored 12 goals while adding two helpers.
“We've tracked Jordyn for a while — she finds multiple ways to score with both feet and from the air,” said Tides sporting director Amit Batra.
“Fans will love her work ethic and physical presence. Jordyn will fit into the culture of the team and community of fans and support Halifax is known for.”
Rhodes joins a Tides squad rebuilding following a sub-par first season on the pitch. The Northern Super League's only East Coast club struggled to score in 2025, with many of their attackers unable to consistently put the ball into the back of the net throughout the campaign. They finished with a league worst 17 goals scored.
However, the addition of Rhodes, and several other promising offensive-minded players, means the Tides are hopeful for a more potent attack in 2026.
“Jordyn came out of college as a proven goal scorer, a trait she continued to demonstrate in Iceland,” said Tides head coach Stephen Hart. “With the right service, we are hoping Jordyn settles quickly and contributes to our goal scoring.”
