Sources: Kris Twardek to sign with Irish Premier League side

Former Canada international Kris Twardek is set for a return to the Irish Premier League, sources told HFX Football Post on Tuesday.

Twardek, 28, previously played over 100 matches in Ireland’s first division before returning to Canada. He played in front of friends and family in Ontario with Atlético Ottawa before moving to Valour FC last year. An imposing winger, Twardek played 27 matches for Valour, notching four goals and two assists. He had an option on his contract but with Valour ceasing operations last week, he became a free agent and had interest from overseas.

Now, Twardek is set for a return to Ireland. His most recent stint in the country came with 11-time champions Bohemian FC.

Sources: Luca Accettola training with CF Monterrey
