Sources: Goalkeeper Nathan Ingham exploring his options following North Star Cup win

Atlético Ottawa is searching for a new starting goalkeeper following the revelation that 2025 CPL Golden Glove nominee Nathan Ingham is exploring his options, sources told HFX Football Post on Friday.

Ingham and his Atlético Ottawa teammates just wrapped up a stellar campaign which saw the group win several individual awards, not to mention hoisting the North Star Cup in the most memorable CPL Final in league history. The ensuing weeks have seen the club's leadership busily working to confirm their roster, and its weaknesses, as they prepare to open training camp for the Concacaf Champions Cup in early January. It is an off-season unlike any other in the club's history.

Sources said the club had hoped to re-sign Ingham, 32, following a strong campaign which saw the goalkeeper play every minute of the regular season. However, after conversations, explained sources, Ingham is exploring his options as his contract expires at the end of December.

Atlético Ottawa is now searching for Ingham's replacement on the eve of the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup draw, which takes place on December 9, with four Canadian clubs (Vancouver Whitecaps, Vancouver FC, Forge FC, Atlético Ottawa) in contention.

Sources added Ingham's camp has been in discussions with Cavalry FC but no deal has materialized as of yet. It's unclear where things stand between Cavalry and long-time 'keeper Marco Carducci, who is also out of contract. Ingham and Carducci faced each other in the CPL Final in Ottawa.

With less than a month left before their camp starts, it remains to be seen who Atlético Ottawa will sign to tend goal for the continent's biggest competition. But there's no doubt the most storied 'keeper in club history is headed out the door only weeks after lifting the North Star Cup. Ingham leaves as the club's all-time appearance leader.
