Sources: Former Valour goalkeeper Eleias Himaras drawing CPL interest
Canadian goalkeeper Eleias Himaras may be the next former Valour FC player to find a new home as several CPL clubs have expressed interest in the 23-year old, sources told HFX Football Post on Friday.
Himaras signed with the Winnipeg-based club last season following three years with York United FC (now Inter Toronto). He made 12 appearances for Valour across all competitions in 2025 but played his best matches in the Canadian Championship versus the Vancouver Whitecaps, including a during the first leg of their cup tie at Princess Auto Stadium, facing 11 shots in a 2-2 draw.
Sources said Forge FC, Inter Toronto and Atlético Ottawa have inquired about Himaras in recent weeks. With several long-time ‘keepers making moves, be it Marco Carducci’s departure or the possibility that Nathan Ingham replaces him at Cavalry FC, few CPL clubs have figured out their situation between the sticks. Forge recently confirmed goalkeepers Jassem Koleilat and Chris Kalongo are pending free agents.
At nearly 6-foot-2 (187 cm), Himaras has decent size and 24 starts to his name since turning professional in 2022. He previously graduated from Toronto FC's academy and played in the FIFA U-17 World Cup for the Canadian youth national team.
