Sources: Aly Ndom exploring options between CPL and USL
Midfielder Aly Ndom is exploring his options following two seasons on Vancouver Island, sources told HFX Football Post on Tuesday. The 29-year old Frenchman has heavy interest, too, with multiple clubs across the CPL expressing their admiration. Sources also said the USL is an option; his contract with Pacific FC expires at the end of this year.
Ndom, who was born in Pontoise, France, joined the Tridents in 2024 following time in Finland. He quickly became a key part of Pacific’s build up as a centre-back in head coach James Merriman’s system and was paired alongside Thomas Meilleur-Giguère, signed to fill the hole left by the departure of Amer Didić. However, after only six matches, the Frenchman tore his Achilles, ending his season, with Meilleur-Giguère leaving to join the Halifax Wanderers in the off-season.
Ndom returned in 2025 and was leaned on heavily, playing over 2,000 minutes through 24 matches. He also contributed six goals across all competitions. But the club struggled mightily as Pacific missed the playoffs for only the second time in their history. They also conceded 59 goals — another unwelcome milestone given Pacific's previous reputation as a defensively sound outfit.
Now, after time across France, Romania, Italy, Finland and Canada, the Frenchman is weighing his options. He previously played in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 in France.
